[Shin NonHyeon] Hobak Bulgogi (호박불고기)

Hobak Bul Go Gi (호박불고기)

South Korea definitely is not a vegan friendly country, and if you are a vegan, you'll find yourself running out of an option to eat the moment you land at the Incheon International Airport.

Everywhere you go, you'll find plenty of grilling places where they serve plethora of meat dishes until you start to have meat sweats and Hobak Bulgogi (호박불고기) is one of those places.

Hobak Bulgogi (호박불고기) is an all you can eat beef place located near Shin Nonhyeon station.

If you have party of three or more, then they will feed you meat until you drown in meat.
For party of two (unfortunately, no all you can eat), they also offer different serving sizes ranging from 600g ~ 900g (roughly 1.3 ~ 2lbs).

They use cast iron pans like the ones they use at the Daedo Shikdang (대도식당),
and they give you slices of pumpkins to grill.
I guess that's why they are called Hobak (pumpkin) Bulgogi?

They also give you plenty of side dishes from your ordinary banchans...

pajeon...

and tofu with kimchee.

This is their 900g serving (48,000KRW)

The quality of the meat are pretty good considering the price.

Hobak Bulgogi do claim that they use Austrailian wagyu, but honestly I'm not sure if they actually do as wagyu usually are bit more fatty.

But can't really complaint considering the price.

You do want to clean the pan from time to time. They do provide paper towels to clean the pan.

Sound of the meat grilling can be such a soothing sound.

Once you are done with the meat, you can ask the workers to make porridge for I believe 5,000KRW extra.

The basically make a dwen jang jji gae and dump a bowl of rice in it.

If you haven't tried it, it's actually quite good.

Hobak Bulgogi does have good price/quality ratio and definitely worth a visit if you are fan of meat and soju.
