[Sharosugil] France Mussel House (프랑스 홍합집)
France mussel house, located in Sharosugil, is a casual French restaurant that specializes in serving mussel dishes.
It's located near Sharosugil entrance.
Most of their customers are either female or couples.
There usually are people waiting if you visit after 6:30ish.
They don't take your name or contact info down or anything. You just have to wait in line and wait to get in.
Oh, and they also don't take reservation.
France Mussel House serves four different types of mussel dish.
The original, tomato sauce, cream sauce, and chicken curry sauce.
For deep fried dishes, they have french fries and deep fried squid.
They also have salad, potato gratin, croque-monsieur, escargot, coq au vin, and cheese platter.
They do have separate wine list.
If you order one mussel dish and one side dish, then you can get complimentary French fries.
Wine we ordered that night.
La Galope Cotes de Gascogne Sauvignon Blanc.
Very easy to drink dry wine with bit of citrus sourness.
Original mussel for two (15,900KRW)
Sauce is made with butter, onion, celery, and garlic.
Mussel's quite fresh, and the scent of garlic is really nice and appetizing.
The mussels go very nicely with the baguette it comes along with.
I'll bet the baguette will even be better with the tomato sauce.
The celery and onions in the sauce are great as well.
Deep fried squid (or I guess calamari).
Comes with salad and tartar sauce.
Squid could be softer but not bad.
Complimentary French fries.
Nothing special here.
When you're done with the mussels, you're left with all this buttery sauce that your mussels have been bathing in.
You can ask them to make pasta with the left over sauce at no extra charge.
The taste caught me off guard though as this pasta tasted more like Chinese noodle.
It had bit of spiciness and I also tasted bit of oyster sauce as well.
It was still quite tasty though.
