[Sharosugil] Man Hwa Kyung (만화경)
Manhwakyung (만화경) meaning kaleidoscope, in English is a casual Asian pub located in Sharosugil near Seoul National University station.
It's located not far from Sharosugil entrance and it's right next to a izakaya called Daijyobu.
Their menu mainly consist of Chinese cuisine which is great I love Chinese cuisine and personally, I think they make great companion to any alcoholic drinks).
Since I don't know if they have any English menu, from top to bottom
Shikijima Yangjangpi: Assorted seafood and vegetables in mustard sauce
Hong Kong Paella
Manhwakyung Baek Jjamppong Tang: Spicy white seafood soup
Shanghaian Pasta: Spicy pasta cooked with oyster sauce
Miss Yuringi: Basically a chicken cutlet salad with soy sauce dressing
Kung kung pao Chicken (uh... kung pao chicken with extra kung...?)
Saekom dal dal ketchup tangshook: Sweet and sour deep fried pork with ketchup sauce
Kkochoo jap chae: Stir fried pork and bellpepper served with Chinese flower bun
Manhwakyung Gogi Jjamppong Tang: Spicy pork soup
Daepa and.... .avi: Pork belly stir fried with scallion
Kyungjang Yooksa (fear. Tortilla): Stir fried pork served with julienne scallion, lettuce and tortilla
Gajigaji Uhhyanggaji: Deepfried eggplant dish
I won't translate the drink menu but they do offer various soju and beer along with Chinese liquor.
Nice clean interior with clean bathroom.
Egg soup and cabbage pickles.
Quite a bit of pepper in the egg soup.
This was on the menu as Bookgyung Soju (Peking Soju) but it's a baiju.
It's quite cheap at 8,000KRW and quite good even compared to Yentai.
Great baiju aroma and tasty.
Kyungjang Yooksa with tortilla (15,000KRW)
Pork had nice charred aroma.
if you eat the pork by itself, it's quite salty but with tortilla, the flavor balances out perfectly.
Miss Yuringi (15,000KRW)
Fried chicken is always good.
I think they sprinkled parmesan or some sort of cheese powder?
It's nice and tender with crispy crust.
Pepper adds nice kick, and it makes great companion to the Peking soju.
Overall, Man Hwa Kyung is a great place to drink with nice quiet atmosphere.
Will definitely be paying another visit in near future.
