[Soongsil University] Ganji Yang Kko Chi (간지 양꼬치)
Ganji Yang Kko Chi (간지 양꼬치) is a lamb skewer restaurant located near Soongsil University.
Their skewers are pretty ordinary but their guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) is quite good.
Ganji's menu is pretty simple.
They have four different types of skewers (lamb, lamb with curry powder, shrimp, and assorted), lamb chop, guobaorou, spicy noodles, dumplings, and fried Chinese flower bun.
Many places in the area still sells soju for 3,000KRW per bottle, but they are 4,000KRW per bottle here at Ganji.
You get three side dishes with your order. Salted stir-fried peanuts, onion pickles, and seasoned chives.
You also get mixed spices to eat your lamb skewers with.
If the spices aren't your thing, then you can also ask for cumin (ask for tsuran).
As you know, cumin goes great with lamb.
Two servings of lamb skewers (20,000 KRW)
Here's one for the Wolverine fans.
The lamb is quite nice and tender, and since it's lamb and not a mutton, it doesn't have that lamb smell.
Guobaorou (12,000KRW)
Can't go wrong with deep fried pork, and the julienne leeks compliment the pork really nicely.
Spicy corn noodles (5,000KRW)
Quite different from the corn noodles you typically see at other lamb skewer places.
Soup is quite heavy as well.
Washes down all the lamb fat you've consumed quite nicely.
Also great as a hangover cure.
